Hi, I’m Kendyll and I’m super excited to be back teaching at ASA after taking time off to continue my own education! It’s wonderful to be returning to such an incredibly supportive environment and staff. I love how ASA emphasizes a well-rounded and developmentally appropriate curriculum that challenges students to achieve great things while still allowing them the grace and safety to explore dancing. I can’t wait to share everything I’ve learned with this community and look forward to seeing you in class soon!

Kendyll's Dance Bio
Kendyll Hazzard is a graduate of the Martha Graham School Pedagogy program (2026), where she studied under the mentorship of Virgine Mecene and Lone Larson, with additional Teaching Artist certification for K-12 students. She is an alumna of the CLI Conservatory (2025), where she trained under Teddy Forance, Riley Watts, Martha Nichols, and more. Currently she is a company artist at Kanopy, where she began her Graham training as an apprentice, and has had the opportunity to perform in repertory from artists such as Pascal Rioult, Lloyd Knight, and Martha Graham herself. Beyond the stage, she has performed in dance for film for artists such as “Wicked” choreographer Christopher Scott, Monika Felice Smith, and Andrew Mullet.
Outside of performing, Kendyll is a passionate educator and choreographer. She is thrilled to return to A Step Above after some time away to hone her craft and experience a variety of perspectives on dance education. Previously, she has taught at various studios across southern WI, and choreographed for JBSO/Stageworks Projects Inc’s “The Nutcracker.” She has presented work for film and stage, choreographing for Danceworks Chicago’s Dance Chance, Bucknell University, u.DL, Isthmus Dance Collective, and Kanopy’s second company, K2. She has also served as guest faculty at the CLI Conservatory.
