Why Families Choose A Step Above
What makes your studio different?
We are known for:
✔ Age-appropriate music, movement, and costumes
✔ A positive, family-friendly environment
✔ Strong structure and clear expectations
✔ Building confident kids—not just good dancers
We don’t just teach dance—we teach life skills.
Will my child feel included if they’re new?
Absolutely. We are intentional about creating a welcoming environment where every dancer feels seen, supported, and part of the team.

Classes & Expectations
What should my child wear?
We provide a clear dress code so dancers feel confident and ready to learn. You’ll get all details after enrollment, or you can see our dress code here.
Can I watch my child’s class?
We offer viewing windows and monitors for you to watch classes without disrupting classroom independence. We also have a few weeks a year when parents are invited into the classroom.
What if my child misses a class?
We offer make-up options in another class at the same or lower level. Make up lessons must be taken before Spring Break.

Tuition & Commitment
How does tuition work?
Tuition is broken into consistent monthly installments, making it easy to budget. Families can choose for billing to happen on the 1st or 15th of the month.
Is there a long-term commitment?
We structure our 9-month season for growth and consistency, but you may withdrawal from our program with a 30 day notice anytime.
Why is dance a commitment?
Because consistency builds confidence. When dancers show up each week, they grow—not just in skill, but in responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance.

Recital (Your Child’s Big Moment!)
Do you have a recital?
Yes—and it’s often the highlight of the year! Your child will have the chance to shine on stage and celebrate their hard work.
Are costumes required?
Yes. Costumes are selected by teachers to match routines and are ordered in advance to ensure a smooth, stress-free experience.
Will there be rehearsals?
Yes. Rehearsals are essential to making sure dancers feel confident and prepared on stage. There are 2-3 rehearsals for our recitals. The dates are given to you in September.

Studio Culture (This Matters Here)
What kind of behavior do you expect?
We expect kindness, respect, and responsibility. Our studio is a positive space, and we actively protect that culture.
What if there’s an issue?
We address things directly and professionally with families. Clear communication helps us maintain a safe, supportive environment for all dancers.
